AdBlue
AdBlue warnings and maintenance
Some of our diesel vehicles use AdBlue, a separate fluid that helps reduce exhaust emissions. AdBlue is not fuel and is stored in a different tank.
What you need to know
- The car will warn you on the dashboard when AdBlue is running low.
- If AdBlue runs out, the car may lose power or may not restart until AdBlue is refilled.
- The AdBlue filler cap is usually blue and often located next to the fuel cap.
Refilling AdBlue
- AdBlue is available at most fuel stations and auto shops in Iceland.
- Only use AdBlue — never mix it with diesel or any other fluid.
Important
- Always check warning messages on the dashboard.
- Do not ignore AdBlue warnings, especially before long drives.
