Damage Report Guide
With every accident we need a damage report.
Below are the available reporting options and a short guide explaining how each method works.
Always collect photos of all vehicles, damages, road conditions, and license plates if possible.
💻 Online Reporting Options
Carcrash.is
Use this service when two or more vehicles are involved in the accident.
Easy to use and self explanatory.
Since the report is not signed physically, insurance companies may need confirmation from both parties before
making a decision.
Sjova.is
If you have Icelandic electronic identification, you can register the accident directly with the insurance
company.
Faster insurance processing and easy submission.
Insurance confirmation from the other party may still be required.
Simple Online Form
Use this form for accidents involving only one vehicle.
The accident report is sent directly to us, reducing return processing time.
Only suitable for single vehicle incidents and may require extra insurance steps later.
📝 Written Accident Report (Two Vehicles)
If internet access is unavailable or both drivers prefer a signed paper report,
use the standard accident form.
Fill out as many fields as possible and make sure both drivers sign the document.

Complete as much information as possible. The report becomes much more useful when details are accurate and
complete.
Both drivers must sign the report and keep one copy each.

Your Side of the Story
This section allows you to explain the accident in your own words and include any additional details.
Separate the pages before filling out the back section and make sure you are writing on the correct vehicle
page.
Number 29 — describe exactly how the accident happened.
📋 Paper Report — Pros & Cons
A properly completed and signed report helps insurance processing go smoothly and shortens resolution time.
Handwritten reports and sketches may sometimes be misunderstood, and paperwork must be manually sent to
insurance companies.
👮 Police Report
If there are injuries or a serious disagreement between parties, contact the police right away.
