How to Change a Flat Tire

If you experience a flat tire, please follow these steps carefully to ensure your safety:

1. Put the car in gear (or Park for automatic vehicles), apply the handbrake, and place stones or wheel chocks behind the wheels if needed.
2. Place the warning triangle 50–100 meters behind the vehicle to alert other drivers.
3. Remove the wheel cover (hubcap) and loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
   Do not remove them completely yet.
4. Take out the spare tire and the jack.
   Position the jack correctly under the vehicle. Information on the correct jacking points can be found in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
5. Raise the vehicle until the flat tire is completely off the ground.
6. Remove the wheel nuts fully and take off the damaged tire.
7. Mount the spare tire and screw the wheel nuts on by hand.
   Make sure the conical (tapered) side of the nut faces the wheel.
   Tighten the nuts in a crisscross pattern so the wheel sits properly.
8. Lower the vehicle, remove the jack, and tighten all wheel nuts firmly again.
   Reinstall the wheel cover if applicable.
9. Make sure all tools and equipment are properly stored and secured.
10. Have the damaged tire repaired as soon as possible.
    Spare tires are often different or more worn than regular tires and are not intended for long-term use.

 

How to Use a Tire Foam Repair Kit

A tire foam kit is for temporary repairs only and should be used to reach the nearest service station or workshop.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Park the car in a safe place, turn off the engine, and apply the handbrake.
2. Remove the object from the tire only if it is safe to do so.
3. Shake the foam can well.
4. Connect the foam bottle or hose to the tire valve.
5. Release the foam into the tire as instructed on the kit.
6. Once the foam is inside, disconnect the hose and close the valve.
7. Drive immediately for 5–10 minutes at low speed to spread the foam evenly inside the tire.
8. Stop and check the tire pressure if possible. Inflate with air if needed.

Important Information

• The foam repair is temporary and not a permanent fix.
• Do not drive fast or long distances after using the foam kit.
• The tire must be inspected and repaired or replaced as soon as possible.
• Some large punctures or sidewall damage cannot be repaired with foam.
